    •  2nd November 2013 – London (Location to be confirmed)

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Psychological Trauma have often been reported upon in the popular media in connection with our involvement in overseas conflicts, thus earning it the label of “The Soldiers Illness”. Furthermore, due to the nature of its sometimes delayed presentation it can also be known as “The Unseen Illness”. In truth, service men and women are less likely to succumb to PTSD than many other professions – it is merely the fact that the Armed Services have the highest concentration of cases that makes it seem more prevalent in this arena. PTSD can present subsequent to a number of events, from road traffic accidents or the diagnosis of a life threatening illness to terrorist incidents and natural disasters.

All areas of PTSD & Psychological Trauma are covered including its history, definitions and the little known current Government/MOD strategy for tackling the issue.  Attendees will come away with a greater understanding of the physiology and neurology of PTSD. They will also be advised of the techniques which can be utilised and, most importantly, the confidence to be able to assist any client presenting with this issue.
