Panic Attacks

  • An intense attack of anxiety characterised by feelings of impending doom and trembling, sweating, pounding heart, and other physical symptoms. As with anxiety, usually the pre-cursor to a panic attack, Hypnosis can be use as an investigative tool to explore the cause both of the anxiety which feeds the attack and the trigger which causes the onset of the attack. Hypnosis is, above all, a heightened state of relaxation, the complete opposite of panic. I follows, therefore, that Self-Hypnosis is often taught as a way of dealing with the onset of a panic attack.
