Insomnia / Sleep Disorders

  • Inability to obtain sufficient sleep, especially when chronic; difficulty in falling or staying asleep; sleeplessness. The human body requires sleep in order to rest and heal itself. Some require more sleep than others, however, when sleep is difficult to attain or maintain this can lead to further physical and psychological problems. Apart from feeling tired and drained, sufferers will often become depressed and even paranoid in extreme cases. The fact that hypnosis is a natural and restful state of relaxation is in itself useful, however, it can further be used to examine the individuals sleep patterns, study possible causes such as not being able to “calm the mind” and also give useful suggestions for attaining and maintaining useful periods of sleep.
